The
Structure of the Crisis
Omar Campos Ferreira
The economical crisis of this end of century has been diagnosed and treated as a financial
one, which can be solved by monetarist measures, but in reality it seems to have deeper
roots. In order to analyze the crisis it is safer to start with elements of the
"physical economy" , using the currency only when there are difficulties to
evaluate short term variations of some production factor.
Glossary of Energy
The Ministry of Mines and Energy is editing a Glossary where
terms currently used in the area are defined for each specific area. In the present issue
e&e puts at your disposal the following items: units, hydraulic energy, electric

Privatization in
the Energy Area The energy sector is
presently the most important program in the privatization program under progress by the
Brazilian Government.
It is presented:
- Table of the privatization already made with the values
obtained and the premium relative to the minimum price;
- Relative participation of the several sectors in the Brazilian
privatization;
- Table with the agenda of the programmed privatization
Some of these are part of the commitments of the Brazil-IMF
agreement.
